Position Summary:

Tyson & Mendes is seeking an experienced Employment Defense Senior Counsel to join our award-winning team of litigators. This position is located in Fresno, California and offers the opportunity to focus on employment defense and civil litigation while gaining diverse experience in other areas of law. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success and be able to handle full case responsibilities, including court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials. Responsibilities:

- Develop a compelling case theme that surpasses any plaintiff tactics for sympathy or anger.
- Strive for excellence and refuse to accept mediocrity in all aspects of your work.
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.
- Collaborate with all levels of experience in a team environment.
- Maintain regular communication with clients.
- Build relationships with current and potential clients.
- Provide leadership and direction to junior attorneys.

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA approved school.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
- Minimum of 8 years of solid litigation experience, specifically in employment defense, litigation support, deposition and trial preparation.
- Ability to manage full case responsibilities, including discovery and trial.
- Experience with insurance defense preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.

8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with employment defense, litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
experience with time management systems
proficiency in ms suite, specifically word, powerpoint and outlook
ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
