Job Overview
A respected family law firm located in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago is seeking a motivated and career-oriented Associate Attorney to join their legal team. Duties

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and appeals.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review Marital Settlement Agreements, Allocation Judgments, and other relevant legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and settlement negotiations.
  • Provide clients with clear legal counsel, guiding them through complex family law issues and potential consequences.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of family law, case law, and relevant regulations to ensure accurate advice and representation.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to handle casework effectively.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining communication with clients and the legal team.
  • Conduct client interviews, gather relevant case information, and maintain detailed case documentation.
  • Participate in the development and execution of legal strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and other involved parties.
  • Provide continuous support throughout case developments, ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients.

Requirements

  • Admission to practice law in Illinois.
  • Family law experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to represent clients confidently in court.
  • Expertise in negotiating settlements and resolving disputes.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional integrity and ethical standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
