Holland & Hart, a premier law firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Tax Practice Group in our Denver, CO office. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide advanced legal and administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other colleagues. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain valuable experience in the legal field. Tax knowledge and experience is not required, but litigation experience is highly beneficial. Responsibilities: - Understand the specific needs and business of the Tax Practice Group - Manage the business intake process, including running adversary searches and drafting screening memos and engagement letters - Prepare, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence using various software applications - Transcribe digital audio files to create written transcripts - Prepare documents and applicable fees for electronic filing with federal and state courts and other agencies - Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, mail, hand deliveries, and emails - Support client activities and provide direct contact client assistance and support - Maintain and manage attorney/paralegal calendars - Assist with in-office tasks, projects, and overflow work as needed - Effectively navigate workflow technology and partner with central team for maximum efficiency and quality - Proactively support the team and demonstrate a positive and collaborative approach to working with others - Serve as a resource to teammates - Manage logistics for internal and external meetings - Liaise with courts as needed Qualifications: - High school education with 4+ years of legal assistant experience or two years of legal assistant training plus at least 2 years of legal assistant experience - Advanced legal assistant skills, including accurate typing and working knowledge of personal computers and software such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat - Strong knowledge of iManage, iCompli, Intapp, Chrome River, Expert Time, and CompuLaw, or similar software - Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules - Advanced knowledge in one or more specialty areas preferred (., litigation, corporate, tax, intellectual property, etc.) - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines - Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team - Excellent judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time - Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds - Repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment - Clear and concise speech - Ability to understand the speech of another person Work Environment: - Professional office atmosphere with exposure to computer screens - Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing for prolonged periods - Occasional off-hour meetings and events may be required Holland & Hart offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
