A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Construction Litigation Attorney to join its boutique practice located in Lewisville. Duties

  • Represent clients in construction, real estate, and business litigation matters.
  • Handle a variety of tasks independently, including:
    • Client consultations and strategy development.
    • Depositions, mediations, and hearings.
    • Drafting and filing legal pleadings and documents.
  • Manage cases involving:
    • Trust fund, retainage, and trapped funds claims.
    • Mechanic’s lien foreclosure and fraudulent lien disputes.
    • Residential Construction Liability Act (RCLA) and Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) claims.
    • Contract review, drafting, delay, and defect claims.
  • Collaborate with the team while demonstrating the ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
  • Exhibit exceptional legal writing and proofreading capabilities to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and litigation.
  • Proficiency in managing client engagements, depositions, mediations, and hearings independently.
  • Preferred experience as a second chair in trials.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated history of employment longevity.
  • Self-motivated with a firm-first mentality and a commitment to teamwork.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Certifications

  • State Bar of Texas licensure is mandatory.

  • Ability to handle complex litigation with minimal supervision.
