A law firm in San Francisco, CA, seeks a Mid- to Senior-level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to handle cutting-edge labor and employment litigation matters. This position involves defending high-profile clients in single and multi-plaintiff actions, class, and PAGA employment litigation, and providing comprehensive employment-related advice and counsel. The ideal candidate will strongly focus on California employment law, offering an excellent opportunity to develop litigation and advisory skills.

Duties:

  • Defend employers in single and multi-plaintiff actions, as well as class and PAGA employment litigation, both in court and arbitration settings.
  • Investigate and respond to administrative charges from employment regulatory agencies.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on California employment law issues, including drafting handbooks and employment policies.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for managers and employees on employment law compliance.
  • Participate actively in all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial, including discovery, depositions, negotiations, and court appearances.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in California.
  • At least 3 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a substantial focus on California employment law preferred.
  • Civil litigation and/or trial experience is a plus.
  • Excellent academic credentials are required.
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice throughout employment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Effective oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
