Summary: - Job Title: Legal Assistant - Commercial Litigation Practice Group - Job Category: Legal Assistant - Requisition Number: LEGAL001504 - Location: Denver, CO 80202, USA - Full-time position - Posting Date: March 25, 2024 - Salary Range: to per hour (Colorado) Responsibilities: - Provide advanced legal and administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and colleagues in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. - Manage the business intake process, including running adversary searches, drafting screening memos and engagement letters, and opening new files. - Prepare, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence using various software applications. - Transcribe digital audio files to create written transcripts. - Prepare documents and applicable fees for electronic filing with federal and state courts and other agencies. - Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, mail, hand deliveries, and emails. - Support client activities and provide direct contact client assistance and support. - Maintain and manage attorney/paralegal calendars and docket court deadlines, conferences, teleconferences, depositions, and other meetings. - Assist with in-office tasks, projects, overflow work, administrative work, and other duties as required. - Proactively manage workflow and priorities. - Serve as a resource to teammates. - Manage logistics for internal and external meetings and liaise with courts. Competencies: - Communication - Organizing & Planning - Customer/Client Experience - Job Knowledge & Technical Skill Job Qualifications: - High school education with 4+ years of legal assistant experience or two years of legal assistant training plus at least 2 years of legal assistant experience. - Advanced legal assistant skills, including accurate typing, working knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. - Strong knowledge of iManage, iCompli, Intapp, Chrome River, Expert Time, and CompuLaw, or similar software. - Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently, and as part of a team. - Strong judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time. - Ability to manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds. - Repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment. - Ability to speak clearly and concisely. - Regular understanding of the speech of another person. Work Environment: - Professional office atmosphere; exposure to computer screens. - Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing for prolonged periods. - Occasional off-hour meetings and events may be required.
