Law Firm Seeking Experienced Legal Assistant with Medicaid Experience Feldman, Kramer & Monaco, a prestigious law firm located in Hauppauge, NY, is currently seeking a Legal Assistant with extensive experience in Medicaid applications. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits, including medical, dental, LTD, 401K, Aflac, and PTO. The salary for this position is per hour, based on experience. Responsibilities of the Legal Assistant will include preparing and submitting Medicaid applications for both Institutional and Community-Based cases, maintaining deadlines and cases required by the Medicaid Agency, assisting clients with obtaining necessary documentation, and communicating with financial institutions to gather required documentation. The Legal Assistant will also be responsible for assisting attorneys with client interactions, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in preparing and filing Institutional and Community-Based Home Care applications. They must also have a strong understanding of Income and Resource guidelines, Promissory Notes, and Manage Long Term Care Agency procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to interact with families throughout the Medicaid application process. They must also be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure to meet Medicaid deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Time Matters is required, and the candidate must be a team player.
