A law firm is seeking a Mid To Senior Level Life Sciences Patent Associate Attorney with the following job description:

Job Overview: The Life Sciences Patent Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing technical expertise in life sciences patent practice, conducting freedom to operate and due diligence analysis, and working closely with colleagues and in-house counsel. They will play a vital role in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, developing strong patent portfolios, and collaborating with clients and associates.

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications with a focus on life sciences.
  • Conduct freedom to operate and IP due diligence search and analysis projects to support licensing, acquisitions, and R&D efforts.
  • Provide technical expertise in life sciences patent practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and in-house counsel on IP-related issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Liaise with clients, the USPTO, and foreign associates regarding patent application processes and strategies.
  • Receive training opportunities with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Opportunities for advancement in a collegial environment.

Requirements:

  • Must be a registered patent attorney.
  • Hold an advanced degree and research experience in biological sciences.
  • 3-8 years of patent experience in life sciences.
  • . in biological sciences (., molecular or cell biology, microbiology, immunology, genetics, organic chemistry, or biochemistry).
  • Superior academic record and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior law firm experience with patents in pharmaceutical and life sciences fields.
  • Current registration and good standing with the USPTO is required.
