Law Firm Seeking Experienced Corporate Associate (M&A) in Washington, DC

Overview: The law firm, also known as Mintz, is currently seeking an experienced Corporate Associate with 5+ years of private equity transactional experience to join their M&A practice in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $365,000 to $390,000 and eligibility for bonuses.

Corporate Practice: Mintz's corporate practice offers a wide range of legal expertise and practical business counseling to help clients achieve their goals and find solutions in various business transactions. The firm's corporate attorneys advise on issues related to commercial, financial, and industrial enterprises, both publicly and privately owned.

Private Equity Market: The firm covers all aspects of the private equity market, including fundraising, investment fund formation, direct investments, portfolio company management, and acquisitions. Their clients include global commingled funds, independent sponsors, and family offices.

Responsibilities: The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and joint ventures, as well as private equity funds and financial institutions. They must be able to provide efficient legal service independently and as part of a team, quickly integrate into the firm's national corporate practice, and commit to providing high-quality client service in support of complex transactions. Strong academic credentials, critical reasoning skills, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts are required.

Qualifications:

- JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission or eligibility for admission in the District of Columbia
- 5+ years of M&A and private equity transactional experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Professionalism in working with clients and colleagues
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and balance competing responsibilities
- Organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
