Job Summary Travelers is seeking a Cyber Claim Counsel to join our dynamic and collaborative team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling claims focusing on cyber privacy and security breach incidents, computer crime, infrastructure attacks and restoration, notification to affected parties and regulators, business interruption, consumer privacy liability, and identity fraud/theft. You will work closely with underwriting colleagues, non-attorney claim colleagues, and participate in BSI claim strategic initiatives. We are looking for a candidate with at least five years of relevant legal or claim handling experience, a Juris Doctorate degree, and proper licensure to practice law in the jurisdiction in which they will be working. This is a full-time, remote position with a hybrid work schedule and a competitive salary range of $105, - $173, per year. Key Responsibilities - Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims with moderate supervision from claims management - Prepare and present reports for management, accurately reflecting loss development, financial exposure, reserve adjustments, coverage issues, and claim strategies - Retain, monitor, and manage outside counsel, actively utilizing litigation management plans and budgets - Communicate with underwriting on significant claim exposures - Identify and coordinate recovery opportunities with the Recovery Management Unit and Claim management - Travel to attend mediations, settlement conferences, claim conferences, field office visits, trials, and depositions - Refine policy interpretation and coverage analysis skills, including drafting coverage opinions with case law - Negotiate settlements and review releases and settlement agreements with confidentiality and non-disclosure provisions - Support underwriting marketing efforts, including participating in broker and account visits, risk mitigation seminars, and authoring customer-focused white papers and articles - Monitor marketplace conditions and conduct research to inform claim and underwriting colleagues on relevant laws - Obtain and maintain required adjusters' licenses Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree - Juris Doctorate Degree - Proper licensure to practice law in the jurisdiction in which you will be working - Two years of relevant legal experience - Five or more years of relevant legal or claim handling experience - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and data analytics - Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners Benefits - Health insurance for employees and eligible family members, including spouses, domestic partners, and children - Retirement benefits, including a 401(k) match and a Pension Plan funded by Travelers - Paid time off, including 20 days annually and nine paid company holidays - Wellness program, including tools, discounts, and resources to support your wellness goals and caregiving needs - Volunteer encouragement, with a Matching Gift and Volunteer Rewards program Equal Opportunity Employer Travelers is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where differences are celebrated, and all employees are valued and supported.
