Salary Information:

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of legal or related experience; Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field preferred

Location: Hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with remote work and 1-2 days in-office per week

Job Description:

The Legal Specialist Sr. is responsible for leading support staff and providing legal support services for multiple Medicaid states, enterprise-wide functions, and/or the most complex litigation through highly complex legal assignments and projects, which utilize a recognized area of specialization and knowledge specific to the company. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact and contribute to the success of Elevance Health.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and coach support staff
- Prepare and evaluate legal documentation
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Respond to subpoenas and inquiries
- Investigate and resolve complex cases
- Monitor state and federal legislation
- Attend and represent the company at legal proceedings
- Apply business knowledge and technical expertise
- Participate in projects and negotiations
- Enter information into databases
- Handle Provider Contracting for Medicaid markets

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 10 years of legal or related experience; Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field preferred
- Experience in Medicaid or other government programs preferred
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Skilled in the use of Excel preferred
