Job Title: Senior Defense Litigation Associate Attorney - General Liability

Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Defense Litigation Associate Attorney for its General Liability practice. The position offers a hybrid remote opportunity with job locations in New York City, NY; Uniondale, NY; White Plains, NY; and Stamford, CT. The successful candidate will work primarily with a team focused on defending general and premises liability matters, as well as assisting in product liability defense for manufacturers of FDA-regulated products. This is a great opportunity for an attorney with substantial experience in defense litigation to advance in a dynamic environment.

Duties:

  • Take and defend depositions, ensuring comprehensive and effective documentation.
  • Research legal, medical, and scientific issues while collaborating with senior attorneys to formulate strategies.
  • Draft significant legal documents, including memoranda, briefs, motions for summary judgment, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare detailed reports for clients, including case evaluations, deposition summaries, medical record analyses, and other case reports.
  • Work with expert witnesses to coordinate testimony and case analysis.
  • Participate in the preparation and planning of trials, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings.
  • Represent clients at courtroom appearances, including presenting oral arguments and participating in discovery conferences.
  • Maintain a commitment to achieving a minimum of 1900 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

  • 6-10+ years of experience in general and premises liability and/or product liability matters, with significant first-chair deposition and courtroom experience.
  • Admission to the New York Bar is required; New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.
  • Strong familiarity and experience with New York Courts.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of conscientiousness, self-discipline, and responsibility.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse personalities and contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the bar.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York Bar is required; New Jersey Bar certification is a plus.

Skills:
