Steptoe LLP, a leading law firm, is seeking highly qualified attorneys with 5-6 years of experience in Energy & Infrastructure transactions for our offices in Houston, New York, or Washington . Our energy attorneys work with some of the largest and most well-known stakeholders and participants in the US and international energy markets, providing them with top-notch legal services. We handle matters at every stage of the project lifecycle and have extensive experience in all major financing structures, including sustainability-linked and green loan principles-aligned structures.

As a member of our energy team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience at every stage of your career. We are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as experience in financing and/or private M&A transactions. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in project and energy financing and/or energy and infrastructure-related M&A transactions. Knowledge of tax equity and/or IRA credit is also desirable.

Job Description:

As a Mid-Senior Energy Transactional Associate at Steptoe LLP, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience at every stage of your career. You will be responsible for providing top-notch legal services to some of the largest and most well-known stakeholders and participants in the US and international energy markets. Your responsibilities will include handling matters at every point of the project lifecycle, from financing and M&A transactions to tax equity and IRA credit.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal services to clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors
- Handle matters at every stage of the project lifecycle
- Conduct research and draft legal documents
- Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys
- Communicate with clients and other stakeholders
- Take on immediate responsibility and assume a leadership role in projects
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and regulations

Qualifications:

- 5-6 years of experience in Energy & Infrastructure transactions

- Admission to the New York, District of Columbia, or Texas Bar, active and in good standing
