A law firm in Paramus, NJ, is seeking a Labor and Employment Attorney with at least 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in both public and private sector labor and employment law in New Jersey and New York, multi-employer plan benefits, and employment litigation. The role involves handling a wide range of labor and employment matters, including contract interpretation, disciplinary grievances, mediations, arbitrations, collective bargaining agreement negotiations, representation claims, unfair labor practice charges, and jurisdictional disputes before agencies like the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC), Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), Office of Collection Bargaining (OCB), Office of Administrative Law (OAL), and state Departments of Labor. The Attorney will also advise clients on union elections, organizing campaigns, handbilling, picket lines, and internal union governance, as well as compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations. The role includes representing clients in federal and state court litigation, drafting employment policies, procedures, and agreements, and defending union clients as employers against employment-related claims and lawsuits. New Jersey Bar membership is required, and New York admission is a plus. Strong research, writing, speaking, and analytical skills are essential.
