The Position:

Phillips & Associates, a prestigious law firm in Miami, Florida, is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a background in employment law, civil rights law, police brutality law, or municipal liability law and will work in a collegial environment at the firm's Miami office. This position will take the lead on cases and play a pivotal role in prosecuting all types of employment cases.

Responsibilities:

- Communicate effectively with potential clients during the intake process to identify cases
- Manage a robust caseload of employment discrimination cases, primarily focused on single plaintiff sexual harassment, race, gender, age, pregnancy, and disability discrimination claims
- Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and identify key legal arguments
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery demands/responses, motions, and briefs
- Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and client consultations to gather evidence and build a strong case
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to leverage collective expertise and resources

Qualifications:

- Three to five years+ of federal litigation experience in employment law, civil rights law, police brutality law, or municipal liability law
- Knowledge of federal practice
- Ability to handle a large caseload immediately
- Firsthand experience in all aspects of lawsuits from initial intake through settlement and/or trial
- Demonstrated interest and skill in legal writing, research, and analysis
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to perform well independently and under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Collaborative and collegial approach to work
- Commitment to advocating for those who have been deprived of their legal rights on the job
- Admitted to the New York Bar
