A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney with expertise in Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith matters. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited Law School, be admitted to practice in Pennsylvania (PA), and preferably hold admission to the New Jersey (NJ) Bar. The candidate must have extensive experience in drafting pleadings, responding to written discovery, conducting depositions, and actively participating in arbitrations and trials. Moreover, the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in drafting coverage opinions related to first-party breach of contract and/or third-party liability claims, along with handling associated bad faith issues. The position requires a minimum of 5+ years of significant experience in handling Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist or First Party Property matters.

 

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs pertaining to Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith litigation matters.
  • Respond to written discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved in the litigation process.
  • Participate actively in arbitrations and trials, representing clients' interests effectively.
  • Provide comprehensive coverage opinions regarding first-party breach of contract and/or third-party liability claims.
  • Manage a caseload independently, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations to support litigation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited Law School.
  • Admission to practice law in Pennsylvania (PA), with admission to the New Jersey (NJ) Bar considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of significant experience in handling Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist or First Party Property matters.
  • Proven track record of drafting pleadings, responding to written discovery, conducting depositions, and participating in arbitrations/trials.
  • Strong understanding of Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith issues, including drafting coverage opinions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education and Certifications:
