Responsibilities

As a Land Use Associate at Manatt, you will:

Work on a variety of land use matters, including administrative law, zoning, affordable housing, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Subdivision Map Act, historic preservation laws, and the California Coastal Act.
Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to obtain entitlements, permits, and approvals for complex projects.
Conduct legal research and analysis to support our clients' objectives.
Draft legal documents, including briefs, memos, and correspondence.
Participate in client meetings and negotiations.
Stay current on land use laws, regulations, and trends.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

Three to five years of solid land use experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and excellent legal research and analytical skills.
The ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs.
