Thompson Coburn, a leading law firm, is currently seeking a Commercial Finance Associate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial lending transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Article 9 secured transactions and significant experience in drafting and negotiating intercreditor agreements. This position is based in either Chicago, Dallas, St. Louis or Washington .

The firm's commercial finance practice is highly active and diverse, with a focus on tax-credit subsidized equity and debt financings. These transactions are multi-faceted and often involve public/private partnerships with multiple sources of debt financing and equity investors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with all parties involved in the transaction, including banks, financial institutions, private equity firms, and state and local governments.

The Commercial Finance Associate will play a vital role in the documentation, management, and closing of these complex transactions. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing self-starter with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. A background in tax-advantaged financing, tax credits, real estate or mergers and acquisitions is preferred, but not required.
