• Represent clients in patent and trademark litigation and dispute resolution matters
• Work closely with other partners and senior associates on patent and trademark issues
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel
• Attend and participate in hearings and trials
• Manage all aspects of the litigation process, including discovery, motions practice, and trial preparation
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Stay current on developments in patent and trademark law
• Assist with business development and marketing initiatives
• Mentor and train junior associates

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of patent and trademark litigation and dispute resolution experience
• Admitted to the Patent Bar (strongly preferred)
• Member of the Florida Bar or in the process of becoming one
• Strong litigation skills
• Excellent drafting and communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively within deadlines and on a team
• Engineering or computer science degree or significant experience litigating patents in these technology areas
• Portable business is required

Position Summary

Shutts & Bowen LLP is currently seeking an experienced Attorney to join our Intellectual Property group. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of patent and trademark litigation and dispute resolution experience, preferably with admission to the Patent Bar. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with other partners and senior associates on a variety of patent and trademark issues.
