A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Corporate (Finance) Associate Attorney with 3-4 years of experience in corporate and transactional law, specifically focused on Finance & Banking. The ideal candidate should possess excellent writing and analytical skills, a strong academic background, and must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on a wide range of corporate finance matters, with a focus on transactions in the Finance & Banking sector.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various corporate agreements and documents related to finance transactions, including loan agreements, credit facilities, securities offerings, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and analysis in finance transactions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Assist in structuring complex finance transactions and advising clients on legal and regulatory implications.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop and execute legal strategies that meet business objectives.
  • Handle legal research and analysis to support client advice and prepare legal opinions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and active membership in the State Bar of Illinois (or eligibility for admission by waiver or examination).
  • 3-4 years of experience practicing corporate and transactional law, with a specific focus on Finance & Banking.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance principles, including lending, secured transactions, and financial regulations.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and active membership in the State Bar of Illinois (or eligibility for admission).
