Job Overview:
A growing immigration practice, launched by a retired Immigration Judge, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Immigration Attorney. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to join a prominent legal team focused on providing expert counsel and representation in various immigration matters. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in immigration law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a collaborative environment.
Location:
Duties:
- Provide legal counsel on various immigration matters, including permanent residency, naturalization, asylum, removal defense, work visas, and family-based petitions
- Represent clients in immigration court, including preparation for hearings, appeals, motions to reopen, and other proceedings
- Prepare and file petitions, applications, and legal documents related to immigration law, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
- Stay updated on changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures
- Advise clients on eligibility and the best legal options based on their circumstances
- Draft legal briefs and supporting documentation for appeals and motions
- Conduct client consultations to assess eligibility for immigration benefits
- Collaborate with legal assistants and paralegals in preparing case files and managing deadlines
- Represent clients in consular processing, including guidance on visa interviews, waivers, and other consular matters
- Assist clients with work visas, employment-based green cards, and corporate immigration matters
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing immigration law, with focus on family-based, employment-based, asylum, and removal defense
- Proven experience with immigration litigation and a strong understanding of immigration court processes
- Ability to provide clear, concise legal advice and representation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large caseload
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to exceptional client service
- Fluency in Spanish or Russian is a plus, but not required
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
