Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, a full-service international law firm with over 600 attorneys, is seeking an Entry / Junior State & Local Tax Associate to join their team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience in a law firm or accounting firm, with a strong understanding of state and local income, franchise, sales, and use taxes.

Position Details:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Not accepting applications from search firms at this time
- Opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing tax consulting, planning, compliance, litigation, and policy services

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis related to state and local tax issues
- Draft legal memoranda and opinions
- Assist with tax planning and compliance for clients
- Represent clients in state and local tax controversies

Requirements:
- At least 1 year of relevant law firm or accounting firm experience
- Strong research and writing skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent academic credentials
