A law firm in Morristown, NJ, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and complex bankruptcy matters and hold admission to the New Jersey Bar. Admission to the New York Bar is a plus. Duties:
- Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide sound legal advice to clients.
- Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, motions, and other legal documents.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to protect clients' interests and assets.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and negotiations on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with clients, creditors, and opposing counsel to reach favorable resolutions.
- Maintain accurate case records, documentation, and billing information.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in bankruptcy laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required.
- Admission to the New York Bar is a plus.
- 1-8 years of experience practicing bankruptcy law.
- Strong knowledge of bankruptcy codes, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of bankruptcy cases.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective negotiation and dispute resolution abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Bar admission in the state of New Jersey (required).
- Bar admission in the state of New York (a plus).
