In this role, the Director of Docketing Services will lead the firm's docketing teams for the IP and Litigation practice specialty centers across the firm. They will be responsible for implementing and managing high-quality policies, procedures, and teams related to docketing services. The Director will also provide direction, development, and oversight of docketing services across the firm, serving as a resource and subject matter expert to firm leadership.

The Director will work closely with firm leadership and Practice Specialty Center leaders to identify and analyze docketing technologies, trends, and best practices across the profession and the broader business community, and work to adopt and implement such practices at the firm as appropriate. They will also build relationships with and serve as a resource and docketing subject matter expert to the firm's attorneys.

The essential job functions of this role include:

- Directly supervising Docketing Managers and managing the docketing staff and all docket-related services, including calendaring and docketing in the litigation and intellectual property docket systems.
- Developing and implementing training programs and protocols for new and experienced members of the docketing teams.
- Auditing docket entries for accuracy.
- Overseeing hiring, firing, promotions, and creation/elimination of positions within the docketing teams.
- Leading, supervising, and developing a cohesive team of docketing professionals.
- Developing and implementing written policies and procedures for the docketing teams.
- Maintaining a thorough working knowledge and ensuring the proper maintenance and integrity of the Docket Department databases and systems.
- Building relationships with attorneys and leaders across the firm to ensure docketing concerns are addressed promptly.
- Participating in professional organizations that promote ongoing education regarding rule changes and procedures.
- Drafting and overseeing departmental budgets.
- Overseeing annual performance reviews and recommendations for salary adjustments and bonuses.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 10 years of legal docketing experience within a law firm environment in an attorney or senior paralegal role. They should also have extensive experience managing a team and proficiency with docket databases, preferably CompuLaw and Pattsy. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in docketing rules, practices, and procedures is also required.

Other qualifications for this role include:

- Demonstrated ability to provide quality client service to internal and external contacts.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and commitment to innovating and enhancing the firm's practices.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment.

- Non-hierarchical approach and ability to build consensus.

The expected salary for this position will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law, with a range of $132,000 to $289,000. This salary does not include a discretionary bonus, which is dependent upon individual and firm performance.
