Responsibilities and Duties

- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax issues in various areas, such as M&A, capital markets, investment fund formation, and real estate matters.
- Assist with the structuring and implementation of tax-efficient strategies for clients, including private equity firms and investment funds.
- Draft tax-related documents, such as opinion letters, memoranda, and agreements.
- Communicate with clients and other legal professionals to gather information and provide updates on tax matters.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and their potential impact on clients.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within the law firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
- Participate in business development activities, such as networking events and client presentations.
- Mentor and train junior associates and support staff.

Qualifications and Skills

- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of M&A, capital markets, investment fund formation, and real estate.
- Prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is preferred.
- Excellent writing, oral communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Top academic credentials from undergraduate and law school.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
