Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate to join its Project Development & Finance practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience, with a focus on project development and/or finance, ideally gained at a large national or international law firm. Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on complex project development and finance matters.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating complex transactions, including joint ventures, financing agreements, and development contracts.
  • Draft and review a variety of project-related legal documents, including financing agreements, development contracts, and regulatory filings.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to develop strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Offer leadership and guidance to junior associates and paralegals.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to the development of legal strategies.
  • Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters related to project development and finance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project development and/or finance.
  • Strong background in managing complex projects and transactions.
  • Proven experience working at a national or international law firm preferred.
  • Ability to handle a high caseload, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the state bar where the position is based (Texas, New York, or California).

Certifications:

  • Bar Admission in the relevant state (Required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in project development and finance law.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage complex legal projects.
  • Client-focused with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
