Salary Unspecified # Senior Associate - Tax Services - R&D/Fixed Assets/Inventory/Methods ## Overview Grant Thornton is looking for a Senior Associate to join their Strategic Federal Tax Services (SFTS) team. As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for navigating R&D tax credit complexity and providing insightful, practical tax advice for clients. You will be expected to collaborate with SFTS leadership and take an active role in R&D projects, research tax issues, assist in conducting fieldwork, and potentially participate in sales and marketing efforts. ## Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field - Master's or . in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or Operations Research preferred - CPA or JD a plus - Two years of experience in R&D tax credits - Minimum of two2ears of experience in Accounting or Tax in public accounting or consulting - Understanding of tax return mechanics - Good understanding of federal and some state R&D rules and relevant court cases - Candidate should be familiar with and have experience with amending tax returns - Candidate must demonstrate ability to manage time, support multiple engagements, support leadership initiatives, and meet deadlines - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work additional hours, as needed, and travel to various client sites. Candidates must be willing and able to travel approximately 8 to 10 days per month ## Responsibilities The successful Senior Associate will have the following responsibilities: - Assist in conducting fieldwork that may include visiting the client location, touring client facilities, investigating relevant facts, analyzing accounting information, supporting the preparation of cost lead schedules and cost summary schedules, assisting the completion of appropriate tax computations, and assisting with written reports summarizing the findings - Participate in various project tasks at the same time - Other duties as assigned ## Benefits Grant Thornton is committed to supporting all the identities, roles, and aspirations that make each employee unique.
