The attorney also gives the opinion for the constitution of the state and he can start the lawsuits in place of the state. The attorney general is also the one in charge of the antitrust action, organized crimes, charities and consumer protection.

The general attorney is also the person who is in charge of hiring other attorneys who work in the assistant position. The general attorney can also hire the assistant in order to work with other government agencies. For example, the Chicago attorney can hire someone to work in the division of Child and Family protection.

Chicago attorney should have the legal background and he has to work with the department of the local police so that he can investigate and he can prosecute the person who is accused. To be able to become an attorney, the person will have to obtain the education that is required. He needs to have the high school diploma. After high school, the aspiring district attorney has to enter into the college or into the university to get the bachelor degree. Even if there may be no specific major for which the attorney may choose, the students can focus more on the courses that strengthen their analytical ability and the problem solving skills. The district attorney can earn the terminal degree called Juris doctorate. After graduation, the students have to pass the state bar exam.
