A prestigious law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Construction Associate Attorney to join its growing Construction practice in Raleigh, NC. The firm handles complex construction-related matters for a broad spectrum of clients, including owners, developers, contractors, and design professionals. The attorney hired will work on significant construction disputes and negotiate high-value contracts across the country. Duties:

  • Work closely with senior associates and partners on complex construction disputes, including claims related to delays, disruptions, and defects.
  • Handle construction contracting matters, including negotiations and drafting of contracts.
  • Represent clients in litigation and arbitration, focusing on construction-related issues.
  • Provide proactive legal advice to clients in the construction industry.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop strategies for client matters and ensure timely resolution.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in litigation and/or contracting, ideally from a large or mid-size law firm.
  • Prior experience in construction litigation or contracting is preferred but not required.
  • A demonstrated interest in construction law will also be considered.
  • Prior experience in the construction, engineering, or architecture fields before law school is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent client communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships.
  • Strong academic background with superior writing abilities.
  • Ability to think critically and provide practical solutions to complex legal issues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
