Job Title: Bankruptcy Attorney Job Responsibilities: - Provide expert legal counsel and representation to state agency clients seeking to collect judgments, tax liabilities, and other claims from entities that have entered bankruptcy. - Assist state agency clients in understanding their rights and obligations in bankruptcy proceedings. - Prepare and file necessary legal documents to preserve the priority of state agency claims and liens. - Represent state agency clients in bankruptcy hearings, negotiations, and court proceedings. - Communicate effectively with state agency clients, debtors' counsels, trustees, and other parties involved in bankruptcy cases. - Stay abreast of changes and developments in bankruptcy law and procedure. Education and Experience Information: - Candidates should have at least four years of experience in bankruptcy law, preferably on the creditor side. - Additional litigation experience is required. - Candidates must demonstrate excellent academic and professional credentials. - Possession of superior oral and written communication skills is essential. - Outstanding legal research, analytical, and legal reasoning skills are required. - Ability to function with minimal guidance in a demanding legal environment. - Candidates must have an active West Virginia law license or be eligible for admission.
