Job OverviewA distinguished law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to junior partner to join its expanding Private Wealth and National Trust practice within the Business Planning and Tax section. This role involves advising local, national, and international clients on complex trust and estate matters, including advanced federal estate and gift tax planning and institutional trustee representation.LocationWilmington, DelawareDutiesAdvise clients on federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planningRepresent institutional trustees on matters such as trust decantings, mergers, and non-judicial modificationsCollaborate on complex private wealth planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and familiesHandle trust administration matters, including interaction with courts, beneficiaries, and fiduciariesDraft and review trust instruments, estate planning documents, and related transactional agreementsStay current with developments in state, federal, and international estate planning lawsContribute to client development and firm growth initiatives within the practice groupRequirementsRelevant experience in trusts and estates lawPrior experience working with institutional trustees preferredBackground in trust restructuring, decanting, and related modifications is highly desirableWillingness to take the Delaware Bar Exam (if not already admitted in Delaware)EducationJuris Doctor (.) from an accredited law schoolCertificationsAdmission to the Delaware State Bar preferred, or eligibility and willingness to sit for the Delaware Bar ExamSkillsStrong knowledge of federal estate and gift tax lawsExcellent legal research, drafting, and analytical abilitiesExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage complex matters with professionalism and precisionCapacity to work collaboratively within a high-performing teamBenefitsCompetitive compensation commensurate with experienceExposure to sophisticated national and international client mattersOpportunity for growth and leadership within a nationally recognized practice groupFull suite of health and wellness benefits (details provided upon request)
