Buchalter, A Professional Corporation Reviews

- Reviewed on July 28, 2017

Advice to law firm management: The firm can improve by taking a more tolerant approach toward staff errors. The firm enjoys a prestigious reputation and bills top dollar, so this may not be in the cards.

Pros: You will enjoy excellent secretaries and paralegals here. The hiring process is quite rigorous to ensure only the best are kept on. You will also get support from your managers when it's needed.

Cons: Perfection is the name of the game here. You will need to show it, daily. Mistakes are not well-tolerated by managers or by clients. You need your A-game.

In 1933, Irwin R. Buchalter started practicing law in Los Angeles. In 1948, he joined California attorneys Jerry Nemer and Murray Fields and founded a firm to serve the area’s growing, post-war commercial community. As a young and thriving California practice, Buchalter Nemer began by assisting clients in business and finance, and representing them in litigation and insolvency. As the business community grew, the firm grew along with it, diversifying and expanding to meet new and growing demands. We met the challenges of client growth by expanding the firm’s size and capabilities. We merged with a leading business firm – Gitelson, Cooper, Coyle & Savitch – in 1957, and added intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate and tax to better address the growing complexities of doing business in a growing global business community. Buchalter Nemer Fields & Younger was established in 1979 when former Los Angeles District attorney and Attorney General of California Evelle Younger joined the practice. In 2005, the firm expanded and deepened its strong regional presence with the acquisition of Arizona-based Anderson Brody Levinson & Weiser, bolstering the firm’s existing strengths in the financial services and real estate sectors. In January 2010, nine attorneys from San Francisco land use and real estate boutique, Ellman Burke Hoffman and Johnson, joined the firm in San Francisco. In 2015, the firm expanded into the Napa Valley, opening an office in St. Helena. Today, from our offices in Los Angeles, Napa Valley, Orange County, San Francisco and Scottsdale, Buchalter Nemer lawyers provide full-service representation to financial institutions, corporations and business entities regionally, nationally and internationally.

I was incredibly happy with the site. I thought it was very easy to use; had significantly more postings than any other site (or combination of sites); and provided a lot of useful information. (the number, and caliber, of job postings). Exactly what I was looking for – I have 5 years’ experience and was looking for a lateral move or an in-house position, and that’s exactly what I found!
