Advice to law firm management: Take courses on how to actually manage a firm. Create an actual HR Department.

Pros: There is nothing good about this firm.

Cons: They openly discriminate against LGBTQ+ people and Black people. HR does not exist and if you make a complaint to the supposed "HR" department they will start a file on you and begin to make work conditions difficult to push you out. Management and supervisors do very low-quality work then blame unaware associates for their incompetency. They are constantly short staffed and the retention rate is about 10%. They will attempt to make associates who have been there awhile, partners to get them to stay but they still choose to leave. That says ALOT. DO NOT EVER APPLY TO WORK HERE.

Partners to Avoid and Why: All of the partners in the NY Office. Terrible people who do subpar work.

Favorite Things About this Firm: NOTHING.

Advice to law firm management: Bring associate salaries out of the dark ages. I've been astounded by the turn over... it's unsurprising really knowing how insanely low the pay is. You are going to keep hemorrhaging people if you don't pay them a reasonable salary for the work they do.

Pros: Some of the people are amazing... I'm honestly shocked LBBS has so many attorneys who stay

Cons: Associate salary in 2021 in Los Angeles = $100,000. Which is just RIDICULOUS. Also, working from home during a pandemic you will use your own computer, printer, and office supplies. The firm supplies nothing and reimburses nothing... despite having a giant labor and employment department who presumably know the reimbursement laws.
