What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Supervise HR subordinates better. Find out what they aren't relaying to HR director.
TALK TO STAFF. Ask them questions. Make a whistleblower policy.
Send problem lawyers for training to learn how to work with their staff.
Offer working from home.
Communicate better with staff. Hardly any staff meetings. Some practice groups never meet with staff. Often you find out about new staff on the day they start so no communication there.

Most lawyers are great.
Staff are now included in lunchtime education seminars.
Lawyer hire in management has been a big plus. She has drawn staff and lawyers together in a good way and really cares about both sides.
What did you not like about this institution?
HR director is good.
Generalist is not. Doesn't follow up, misses deadlines and covers up by only using verbal communication so no paper trail. Not sure if management knows about this.
Some lawyers are are not inclusive and only care about their staff. Some ice out staff in their own department because of bias or prejudice.
Benefits could be better.
Lateral movement not encouraged.
Some staff are expected to carry much bigger loads than others.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Most are fine. Most try hard.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Staff are generally really nice. They know how to laugh and handle stress.
