Advice to law firm management: Consider hiring more secretaries and paralegals. The firm would run so much smoother with just a few more of each.

Pros: This firm really seems to care about the employees. They host a ton of fun events and gatherings, and are incredibly flexible when it comes to time off for family related matters.

Cons: There doesn't seem to be enough support staff to keep things running efficiently. Secretaries are always behind and paralegals are sometimes nowhere to be found.

Pro bono

The attorneys at Fulbright & Jaworski consider themselves citizens of the communities where they live and work and donate thousands of hours annually to pro bono cases across the world. They actively serve the legal needs of community development projects, nonprofit organizations, and legal service programs for the poor globally. In fact, in order to promote the attorneys' active involvement in pro bono cases, the annual bonus program at Fulbright & Jaworski considers the hours spend doing pro bono work and reimburses some of the costs related to this work. The firm's expectations for pro bono recognition are also significantly higher than those recommended by the American Bar Association. In 2011, the attorneys at provided Fulbright & Jaworski 71,000+ pro bono hours across the firm's global network of offices.   • $106M Acquisition of Vilebrequin, a global provider of luxury swimwear, accessories, and resort wear, for G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. Representing Burlington Coat Factory, Spirit Halloween Superstores, and Spencer Gifts against in an environmental litigation involving California Proposition 65 private enforcement actions. Representing CAL Poultry Vikon, Inc. (CAL Poultry) in a federal lawsuit involving racial and religious discrimination case. Represented Total E&P USA, Inc., in its $2.3 billion purchase of an undivided 25% interest in, and the joint development of, 619,000 net mineral acres of oil and gas properties located in the Utica Shale of eastern Ohio from Chesapeake Exploration L.L.C. and certain affiliates of EnerVest Ltd. Represented Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration & Production Corporation in its multibillion-dollar purchase from an affiliate of Devon Energy Corporation of an undivided 33.3% interest in, and the development of, approximately 1.2 million acres of oil and gas properties located in Mississippi, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Ohio, and the Michigan Basin.

Summer associate program


Fulbright & Jaworski considers its Summer Associate Program to the primary source of hiring new associates and invites the 1L and 2L students from the country's premier law schools to spend their summer with the firm. These students are given the option to rotate through various departments and get a full-rounded first-hand experience of the real world of law or spend their time interning with a specific practice of their interest.
