Advice to law firm management:
Be more transparent about compensation and pay associates competitively with other large firms. Don't send so much email to everyone in the firm.

Pros:
Huge breadth and depth of experience across the firm to draw from as resources. Great business staff (technical support, etc.).

Cons:
Acts as if it is a bigger deal than it actually is. Seemingly constant self-congratulatory firm-wide emails from firm leadership, but compensation is not competitive with the most prestigious firms despite massive size. Listed info claims starting salary is $160,000 firm-wide but this is not true; many associates in smaller offices earn less. Compensation formula is opaque and, contrary to the listed information, there is no lockstep progression.

Pros:
This was the hands-down the best firm I've ever worked for. Everyone treated me like family and I was doing very well here.

Cons:
The work is hard and constant, so you'll always be busy with something. The scheduling can be difficult to deal with, but it's manageable.

Advice to law firm management:
GT is less of one firm and more of hundreds of miniture firms operating under the same name. Each practice group leader has so much atonomy, that associates in different groups have no consistent experiences. In addition, there is little to no firm culture, and in the absence of a firm culture, shareholders are able to manipulate associates by making unreasonable demands on their personal and professional lives for access to work and favorable reviews.

Pros:
GT is a great firm to begin your career at. They staff matters very thinly, so you get thrown into the deep end very quickly. You learn at an advanced rate, because you are forced to in order to keep up with the work you are given.

Cons:
Even if you do high quality work and produce high collections (and your reviews confirm such), moving upwards from junior or mid-level associate to a more advanced position is more of a game of politics and less based on the quality of your work or your production and numbers.

Partners to Avoid and Why:
David Kurzweil and John Elrod - see associates as expendable cogs, not people to invest in the career of. They will not reward you for high quality work, but instead minimize your contributions to keep you from understanding your worth and take advantage of your abilities.

Favorite Things About this Firm:
The staff are extraordinarily nice, and many good people work here, including staff and attorneys. However, these people tend to keep their heads down and must be sought out, because kindness is seen as weakness at the firm.

Cons:
This firm only cares about money. Rather than helping a mother with cancer enduring severe domestic abuse they decided to enable the abuser and help him. They enabled not only domestic violence but also child abuse. They assisted in that poor mother's suicide. They are murderers.

This firm has seen nothing wrong with Allen Kassenoff’s actions towards his ex wife. Allen is abusive and the firm has only said “we find nothing wrong” this is beyond scummy. I hope none of you suffer from what Catherine suffered from. You need to rethink your life choices and fix yourselves. Allen should be locked away and anyone who turns a blind eye on the suffering that Catherine’s kids go through I hope you have the worst luck.

Fire Allan and make sure that pathetic human goes to jail and his kids get put with people who actually love them. It's only a matter of time before he starts treating them how he treated his wife- in fact he's already done it.

Pros:
If you like the fact that they let four helpless children (who are on video fearing allan kassenoff and crying because they don't want to go with him, or crying and cowering because he's telling them he hates them) got to stay with their abuser than this is the firm for you! It's obvious they don't help people. Just because allan has money means that he can do whatever he wants.

Cons:
Instead of firing a man who abused his wife and made multiple false police reports (which BTW is illegal. I'm not sure if the law firm knows stuff like that doesn't exactly hold up in court) they put him on a "temporary leave of absence". This makes sense though. I guess they like allan because you need a piece of living garbage to work at a lawfirm who's main goal is to hurt people. That's why I quit.

Favorite Things About this Firm:

Taking the heartbreak of Catherine's story out of consideration and just looking at the facts, it's objectively impossible to view this firm as a firm able to practice law knowing their corruption and lack of accountability-while these are moral issues, these are also the type of business practices that trickle down and can destroy clients. At this point, not a wise decision to work with them regardless of your empathy or lack thereof to Catherine's story and the hell her daughters are living in.

Pros:
Nothing, apparently.

Cons:
Willingness to protect an employee who was the death of his wife and could very well become the death of her three girls. Ironclad evidence and no willingness to take action.

FIRE Allan Kassenoff if you want to keep your company. Because right now, its not looking good for you guys.

Pros:
Nothing! If they are ok with standing behind a garbage person like Allan K who was abusing his wife and kids verbally (with tons of video evidence) then they will not care about you. They are all about pocketing as much money as they can. They work there employees to death ( So i've heard) and its really hard to move up in the company due to politics.

Cons:
Everything!!!! They put out a statement on Facebook defending one of their lawyers, Allan K who abused the system and drove his wife to suicide. All the proof was submitted by her on Facebook. Go to Catherine Kassenoff's to see the full story. Don't support this horrible company!
