Advice to law firm management: Management should hold more events throughout the year and allow more flexibility in terms of work scheduling. I'd also like to see the firm hire some younger attorney's to help balance this firm and make it a bit less traditional.

Pros: The health benefits are excellent and even though the firm is quite strict in terms of what hours you are expected to be there, I have found that I was never overburdened with work since there are always staff members to assist you.

Cons: Everyone is very friendly and cordial albeit a bit too serious at times which can be off putting if you are new to the field. I did find the starting salary to be on the low side. I really found the serious tone of this firm and lack of advancement to be very off putting.

Advice to law firm management: Keep training and developing new associates. This will benefit everyone involved, including the firm as a whole. A formal training program would help even more.

Pros: This is a well-established and well respected firm with a lot of talent walking the halls. It's been a great place to grow my career and I've learned a lot of different things from a lot of different people over the years.

Cons: Expectations here are high, and associates who want to advance should prepare to put up with long hours and late nights.

Summer associate program

The interview process for our Summer Associates Program is designed to find the best and brightest candidates who will both fit our work culture and bring something new to the firm. Our firm recognizes the value that diversity brings to the worplace, and we pursue diversity in our attorney and staff ranks - learn more.

During August and September, we participate in on-campus interviews at numerous law schools. After the on-campus interiew, you may be asked to visit one of our offices for a second "call-back" interview, which consists of a group interview with four to eight attorneys. Following the inteview, candidates have the opportunity to meet with one or two practice group leaders and join a few associates for lunch. Offers are generally extended by early October.
