Experience Information:
- First- and second-year law students are eligible to apply

Law Firm Summer Program Experience:
- Valuable opportunity to assess fit with Firm's working environment and practice
- Opportunity for Firm to assess legal and personal skills of summer clerks
- Summer clerks may go on to become associates at the Firm
Application Process:
- Submit resume, law school transcript, and cover letter via . mail or email to Recruiting & Professional Development Manager

Interview Process:
- Generally takes place at Firm's main office in Salt Lake City for approximately three hours, including lunch
- Candidates meet with four to six attorneys, including Shareholders and Associates
Assignments:
- Summer clerks work for multiple attorneys in various areas of practice
- Emphasis on specific practice area if clerk has interest
- Encouraged to attend oral arguments, hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, client conferences, negotiations, and closings
Feedback:
- Informal feedback provided throughout summer from assignment coordinator, assigning attorney, and mentors
- Formal evaluation at mid-point and conclusion of summer program
Mentors:
- Assigned an Associate and Shareholder as mentors
- Mentors provide guidance and serve as resource on work assignments and office practice
- Open-door policy for questions about work/life balance
Training:
- Formal training seminars on Legal Research and Writing, Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and Timekeeping and Billing
- Presented by Firm members and outside guest speakers
- Weekly meetings with chair of each firm section to explore different areas of law and meet with firm leaders
Social Events:
- Several events hosted by Firm throughout summer for summer clerks to get to know lawyers and their families in informal setting
- Events may include concerts, sporting events, and dinners
