The **Members Only** is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Attorney I. In this role, you will provide representation for indigent clients charged with criminal offenses in Maricopa County. This is a fast-paced position that requires professional, aggressive, and ethical advocacy for our clients.

As an Attorney I in the Early Disposition Court, you will handle all stages of the criminal justice process, from initial appearance to sentencing. This includes appearing in court, negotiating with state attorneys, researching legal issues, and preparing legal documents. This recruitment is for two Attorney tier I vacancies in the Early Disposition Court.

The level and compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's education and experience, with a range of $80,000 - $122,000 annually. In addition to competitive salary, we offer a variety of benefits including Public Service Loan Forgiveness, Loan Repayment Assistance, and enrollment in the Arizona State Retirement System.

Qualifications for this position include a Juris Doctor or Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from an ABA-approved law school, one year of experience as a practicing attorney, and a valid Arizona driver's license. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in adult criminal matters.

Working as an Attorney I in the Legal Defender Department may require viewing traumatic subject matter and lifting up to 35 pounds. This position also involves travel to courts, jails, and other job-related locations.
