Job Title: Senior Associate, Accounting Methods

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Associate in the Accounting Methods group is tasked with optimizing federal tax accounting methods for companies, which involves areas such as revenue and expense recognition, capitalization, depreciation, and amortization. Key responsibilities include:

- Developing long-term, mutually beneficial client relationships and contributing to client retention by delivering high-quality work.
- Collaborating with senior professionals to prepare and review accounting method changes, including section 481(a) computations.
- Identifying and conducting necessary research to frame and report analyses clearly and concisely.
- Providing premier-quality services to clients by leveraging or improving standard business practices and technologies.
- Organizing work efficiently to minimize required revisions and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Participating in the research of potential clients to identify their tax positions and possible issues or opportunities.
- Utilizing online research tools to gather relevant tax, legal, industry, and other information.
- Keeping current on relevant tax laws and educating oneself on tax strategies.
- Managing projects by planning processes and procedures with a focus on quality and meeting internal deadlines.
- Maintaining a high level of technical skills in accounting methods by staying updated on recent guidance.
- Assisting with the development of tools and templates helpful to core tax services and accounting method projects.
- Complying with industry standards and policies outlined in the company's Tax Quality Manual.
- Training and mentoring interns, associates, and possibly other senior associates in the Accounting Methods group.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in accounting, tax, or finance is required, which can include internships.
- Prior experience in tax consulting roles such as accounting methods, 263A, or FDII is preferred.
- Experience in preparing or reviewing tax provisions, corporate taxation, consolidations, and partnerships is also preferred.
- Candidates should currently hold or be working towards a Certified Public Accountant license, Enrolled Agent certification, or Juris Doctorate degree (or an equivalent designation).

Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and leadership mentality are important.
- The ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels and to work independently or within a team is essential.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, are required.
- A strong initiative, drive to lead, and desire to enhance and grow the Accounting Methods practice are essential.
- Building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement are important.

Salary Information:
Salaries for the Senior Associate position are determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The salary ranges are as follows:

- National Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- Maryland Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $73,500 - $131,250
- Washington DC Range: $73,500 - $131,250
