Job Title: Fall 2025 Law Clerk
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in legal research and draft motions and memoranda.
- Participate in case planning and investigation.
- Coordinate with witnesses and assist in preparation for trials, hearings, and/or sentencings.
- Work closely with attorneys, investigators, paralegals, social workers, and other support staff.
- Be fully integrated into trial teams, providing comprehensive advocacy for clients.
- Support the client-centered and team-based representation of clients.
- Conduct significant research and writing, witness preparation, investigations, and/or trial preparation.

- Opportunities are available for law students during the spring semester (January-May), fall semester (September-December), and summer (May-August).
- The program is designed to provide hands-on experiences working closely with attorneys and staff in providing zealous and comprehensive defense for clients.
Salary Information:
- These are unpaid volunteer positions.
- Where applicable, externs may receive support for seeking credits for their work with the organization.
- The organization will sponsor grant or other outside funding applications when applicable.
Additional Details:
- The organization provides an array of opportunities for law students across various districts and divisions.
- Law clerks join the organization three times a year: winter, spring, and fall, with applications accepted on a rolling basis.
- Placement decisions are made consistent with candidate preferences, and candidates are encouraged to specify their preferred offices.
- The Montgomery County and Baltimore City offices are accessible via public transportation.
- The position requires a commitment to work consistent days and hours for at least 10 weeks, starting by September 2, 2025.
