Duties

  • Manage a diverse caseload involving medical malpractice claims against hospitals, physicians, and healthcare professionals

  • Draft responsive pleadings, dispositive motions, and detailed legal memoranda

  • Conduct depositions and represent clients in court, mediation, and arbitration proceedings

  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on litigation strategy and risk assessment

  • Collaborate with internal legal teams and external stakeholders to achieve client objectives

  • Monitor developments in case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to medical malpractice and insurance defense

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of experience in insurance defense with a strong background in medical malpractice litigation

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex cases independently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic, time management, and organizational abilities

  • High level of professionalism and integrity

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar
