Job Title: Ethics & Investigations Officer
Job Responsibilities:
The Ethics & Investigations Officer is responsible for leading and managing the company's compliance, ethics, and investigative functions. This role entails developing and executing the enterprise-wide ethics investigations strategy and ensuring the organization's adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. The officer is tasked with fostering a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the company. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and execution of the company's ethics investigation strategy to ensure regulatory compliance across all business units and markets.
- Providing oversight of internal investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and conflicts of interest, and establishing and maintaining investigative protocols for consistent and fair processes.
- Ensuring proper documentation and reporting of investigations in accordance with legal and regulatory guidelines, and coordinating with external regulators, law enforcement, and other stakeholders when necessary.
- Partnering with executive leadership to align ethics and investigation initiatives with corporate goals and strategy.
- Advising the Board of Directors and executive teams on ethics and Fraud, Waste and Abuse trends, risk exposure, and regulatory developments.
- Utilizing data-driven insights and risk analytics to enhance ethics monitoring, investigative processes, and decision-making.
- Driving efficiency within compliance operations, focusing on process optimization, risk mitigation, and internal controls.
- Leading a strategically focused team to support growth, efficiency, and positive outcomes in alignment with the company's core values.
- Integrating technology and automation strategies to enhance ethics and compliance effectiveness and streamline investigative processes.
- Championing a culture of ethics and compliance across all levels of the organization.
- Performing other duties as assigned and complying with all policies and standards.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's Degree such as CPA, CISA, MHA, MBA, MIS, Juris Doctor (JD), or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in compliance, ethics, investigations, or a related field is required.
- At least 7 years of experience in implementing business initiatives in process, risk, and control measures is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with compliance-focused solutions (HIPAA, NAIC, CMS, SOX, etc.) is required.
- Experience in fraud detection and prevention, regulatory compliance, and corporate ethics is preferred.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification as a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or a similar certification is preferred.
Salary Information:
The pay range for the Ethics & Investigations Officer is $250,000 - $625,000 per year. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and flexible work schedules with remote, hybrid, field, or office options. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
