Are you a law student looking for a challenging and rewarding summer internship opportunity? Look no further than the Consumer Protection Branch (CPB) of the **Members Only** at the . Department of Justice. CPB is currently seeking volunteer legal interns for the summer of 2025 to assist in protecting the health, safety, and economic security of American consumers.

CPB is responsible for bringing both civil and criminal enforcement actions to safeguard consumers. In addition, the branch defends federal agencies in litigation related to food, drugs, medical devices, and other consumer protection efforts. As a legal intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on a variety of substantive assignments, including legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, attending court hearings and meetings, and assisting with trial preparation.

To be eligible for this position, applicants must be enrolled at least half-time in law school and have completed at least one year of study by the start of the internship. First and second year law students are encouraged to apply, but unfortunately, graduates are not eligible. Strong analytical and writing abilities are required, and candidates in the top third of their class are preferred. However, CPB takes into consideration the entire background and experience of applicants when assessing their application.

This is a full-time internship, with a minimum duration of 10 weeks. Selected candidates must successfully complete a background investigation.
