General Summary:

- Reports to Open Systems Legal Group
- Focus on conducting internal software reviews for open source and AI technologies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate intellectual property risks
- Work closely with software developers to integrate internally developed software with open source and AI software
- Provide counseling on open source and AI compliance to senior executives, engineers, and legal staff
- Advocacy role in external organizations
- Must have experience and creativity in negotiations and comfort in public speaking

Preferred Qualifications:

- 7+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house with a focus on technology licensing and intellectual property
- 2+ years of experience handling open source issues
- Knowledge of software programming fundamentals

Education:

- Required: Juris Doctorate degree or other applicable degree
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in an engineering field with exposure to computer science-related coursework

Minimum Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house
- Active bar license to practice law (or ability to obtain upon hiring)
