Job Responsibilities:
The Regional Director is charged with ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Bend Regional Office. This role involves supervising the legal work conducted by the office, overseeing the career development of both attorneys and support staff, and engaging in planning and setting priorities for the office's operations. The Regional Director is also responsible for grant compliance, managing the office budget, and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations and the private bar. Additionally, the Regional Director manages an independent caseload, performing all duties typical of a staff attorney. This dual role requires balancing administrative and managerial responsibilities with direct legal advocacy.

Education and Experience Information:

Experience with legal aid or involvement in poverty law issues such as domestic violence/family law, public benefits, and housing is necessary. The role demands substantial litigation experience and excellent legal skills. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to enhance community visibility, awareness, and collaboration. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, good judgment, initiative, and a willingness to work collaboratively. An understanding of and commitment to anti-bias principles, cultural competency, and addressing systemic racism and other forms of oppression is crucial. There is a hiring preference for candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and/or another language and who are members of the Oregon State Bar.

Salary Information:
The compensation for the Regional Director is based on a 35-hour work week. The salary range is $82,700 – $90,200 annually for individuals with 5-10 years of experience, and $91,700 – $114,200 annually for those with 11-30 years of experience. Salaries are determined by relevant work experience. Additional compensation ranging from $4,300 to $5,700 annually is available for bilingual ability, based on proficiency. A full benefits package is provided, which includes individual and family health, vision, and dental insurance coverage; a 6% employer retirement contribution; generous paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; and paid moving expenses.
