Job Title: Applied Researcher II
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products that transform customer interactions with their finances.
- Utilize a comprehensive technology stack, including Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, Lightning, and VectorDBs, to extract insights from large datasets consisting of numeric and textual data.
- Develop AI foundation models through all stages, including design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
- Conduct high-impact applied research to incorporate the latest AI advancements into future customer experiences.
- Translate complex technical work into clear business objectives and goals.
Education and Experience Information:
- Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or holding a PhD with an expectation of obtaining the degree before the scheduled start date, along with at least 2 years of experience in Applied Research, or an . with at least 4 years of experience in Applied Research.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience in NLP, with a PhD focus or a Master's degree plus 5 years of industrial NLP research experience.
- Publications related to large language models (pre-training, SSL techniques, optimization).
- Experience in training large language models (., 10B+ parameters, 500B+ tokens).
- Publications in deep learning theory and at conferences like ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, Neurips, ICML, or ICLR.
- Expertise in optimization of training and inference for large deep learning models, model sparsification, quantization, training parallelism, gradient checkpointing, and model compression.
- Experience in finetuning large language models, including supervised finetuning, instruction-tuning, dialogue-finetuning, and parameter tuning.
- Knowledge of transfer learning, model adaptation, and model guidance principles.
