Job Responsibilities:
Tax Services Interns at the company are integral members of client service teams. They participate in various engagements similar to an Associate and receive both formal and on-the-job training to develop their technical skills. Interns work in an environment that enhances their interpersonal and technical skills and deepens their understanding of tax implications across different industries. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the research of tax laws, rules, and regulations, and analyzing their application to specific situations. This involves drafting memorandums to defend decisions and/or outlining solutions to issues.
- Participating in select phases of tax compliance engagements, including individual, estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns.
- Collaborating as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, aiding clients in solving complex business issues.
- Proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.
- Supporting select projects by demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative while working as a team member.
- Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, and/or an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD, or LLM. Eligible students should be in their 3rd year of a 4-year degree program or in their 4th year of a 5-year degree program. Interns typically join the company during the winter/spring or summer before their intended graduation year. Additional requirements include:

- Ability to interact with various levels of client and company management through both written and verbal communication.
Before starting full-time, it is preferred that students will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam appropriate for the relevant practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam in certain states.
