State and Local Tax - Indirect Tax - Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead as technology-enabled tax advisors who provide benefits through digitization, automation, and increased efficiencies.
- Supervise, develop, and coach teams, managing client service accounts, and driving assigned client engagement workstreams.
- Independently solve and analyze complex problems to develop exceptional deliverables.
- Cultivate meaningful client relationships and inspire team members.
- Navigate ambiguity while upholding the company's quality standards.
- Contribute to the firm's purpose, principles, and broader business strategies.
- Ensure successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion of projects.
- Partner with team leadership to ensure collective ownership of quality, timelines, and deliverables.
- Address conflicts or issues and engage in difficult conversations with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Uphold and reinforce professional and technical standards, the firm's code of conduct, and independence requirements.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience is necessary.
- CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
- Juris Doctorate in Taxation is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of state and local tax laws is essential.
- Proficiency in tax planning and restructuring is required.
- Experience in audit defense and state controversy work is beneficial.
- Familiarity with sales and use tax implications on FAS 5 is advantageous.
- Proficiency in tax compliance automation tools is necessary.
- Proven leadership in supervising and coaching teams is expected.
- Knowledge of automation and digitization in tax services is important.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $98,300 to $266,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
