Job Title: Manager - Tax Technology & Transformation - Indirect Tax
Job Responsibilities:
The Manager in the Tax Technology & Transformation - Indirect Tax sector at Company will engage in several key responsibilities to assist client tax departments in enhancing their efficiency and productivity while identifying potential tax-saving opportunities. The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Assisting clients in transferring control of tax decision-making from transaction processing personnel and external vendors to the tax specialists within the client’s tax department.
- Defining solutions, coordinating necessary technical resources, and delivering products that fulfill client goals and tax requirements.
- Leading teams, mentoring counselees, and managing client-serving businesses.
- Documenting and reviewing current state tax processes and controls to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Supporting the development of a business case to justify tax process enhancement solutions.
- Providing support during the indirect tax software/vendor selection process.
- Documenting tax data requirements and implementing automated indirect tax calculation and compliance solutions.
- Supporting the development of data analytics solutions focused on indirect tax.
- Supporting the implementation of global digital tax reporting solutions.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess the following education and experience:
- An undergraduate degree with an emphasis in accounting and approximately six years of related work experience in indirect tax process improvement or equivalent experience in business or industry; alternatively, a master’s degree and approximately four years of related work experience is preferred.
- A technical certification, CPA license, or membership to the state Bar, or progress toward attaining these qualifications is required.
- Indirect tax experience (Sales/Use Tax, VAT) and/or corporate indirect tax compliance experience is preferred.
- Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time is required.
- Relevant experience in one or more specialty areas including indirect tax software products such as Vertex, ONESOURCE (formerly Sabrix), Avalara, ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, and procurement systems such as Ariba, Coupa, etc.
- Experience in tax process and operational assessments.
Salary Information:
The compensation and benefits package for this role is comprehensive and based on performance, recognizing the value brought to the business. The base salary range for this position across all geographic locations in the US is between $124,200 to $227,800. For the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the salary range is $149,100 to $258,800. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
